We advise small and medium-sized enterprises and international companies on data protection law in Bulgaria: GDPR compliance, the requirements of the Bulgarian data protection authority, and representation before the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection and the courts. We work in English, German and Bulgarian.
What we do
| Situation | What we do |
|---|---|
| Structuring data protection requirements | We advise on how to structure the requirements for internal data processing and for the use of data for advertising purposes. |
| Contracts with processors and partners | Data processing agreements and the data protection terms of IT, hosting and service contracts, including transfers of data outside the EU. |
| Requirements of the Bulgarian authority | Implementing the requirements of the Bulgarian data protection authority is an essential part of our ongoing advice. |
| Complaints and investigations | We represent you in proceedings before the Commission for Personal Data Protection and respond to complaints and requests from the authority. |
| Courts | We represent you before the competent courts, including in appeals against decisions of the authority. |
Why the Bulgarian authority matters for foreign companies
The processing and use of data is subject to countless general and partly sector-specific requirements under data protection law. A company with a Bulgarian subsidiary, development team or customers is dealing with the Bulgarian authority and with Bulgarian procedure, and these do not always work like the authority and procedure at home.
